Google Veo 3
// Description
// Use Cases
- Ads with dialogue
- UGC-style ads
- Social clips
- Film scenes with sound
Native audio is the game changer. A spot with dialogue that used to need a voice actor, a studio and sound design now comes out of a single prompt. Our current first pick for UGC-style ads.
// Deep Dive
What is Google Veo 3?
Veo 3 is Google DeepMind's AI video generator, introduced at Google I/O in May 2025. The difference that set it apart from Sora, Kling and Luma at launch: Veo 3 generates picture and sound in one pass. Lip-synced dialogue, footsteps on gravel, rain on metal, background music. Nothing is dubbed afterwards.
The viral Bigfoot vlogs, ASMR cutting videos and fake street interviews that flooded social feeds in 2025 were almost all Veo 3. Millions of viewers only realized they were AI after reading the comments.
Veo 3.1: the features that matter
- Reference images: up to three images as ingredients (character, product, style) that stay consistent across the video
- Scene extension: clips can be extended in Flow into sequences of over a minute
- First/last frame: set a start and end image, Veo interpolates the motion between them
- Improved audio: dialogue, effects and ambience became audibly more precise with the 3.1 update in October 2025
Every Veo video carries an invisible SynthID watermark that machine-identifies it as AI-generated. Useful in the EU, where Art. 50 of the AI Act requires labeling of synthetic media.
Access and pricing (as of early 2026)
- Gemini app: included in Google AI Pro ($19.99/month) with limited generations, mostly the faster Fast variant
- Flow: Google's filmmaking tool with scene editor, camera controls and clip extension. Full access on the AI Ultra plan
- API (Vertex AI / Gemini API): billed per second of video. Veo 3 Fast costs a fraction of the flagship model and covers most social formats
The Pro plan is fine for testing. For real campaign work you will end up in Flow or the API, because that is where extension and reference images become fully usable.
Where Veo 3 wins, and where it doesn't
Veo 3 wins wherever sound is part of the idea: testimonials, UGC ads, interviews, product demos with a voiceover. Physics are solid and prompt adherence is high.
Weak spots: the 8-second single-clip limit forces you to think in cuts. For long, calm camera moves Luma Ray2 often looks nicer, and for maximum human realism Kling remains a serious rival. See the full comparison in AI video generators 2026.
